‘El Rastre del Llop’ is a Sitges production led by Ángeles Hernández and David Matamoros. The feature film premieres on Thursday 5 February at 8 pm at the Casino Prado Suburense, with the director and part of the cast in attendance.
Cinema Prado will become the setting for the grand world premiere of El Rastre del Llop, the new feature film directed by Ángeles Hernández, produced by Mr. Miyagi Films and distributed by Alfa Pictures. The premiere will take place on Thursday 5 February at 8 pm in an event organised by Cinema 4 You and the Casino Prado Suburense, with the collaboration of the Sitges Film Office of the Sitges Town Council.
El Rastre del Llop is an intense thriller with dramatic undertones that connects a family’s intimate conflict with a climate and emotional crisis that transforms the environment into a hostile space. In the story, water becomes a central element, both life and condemnation, and paints an oppressive scenario that dialogues with an increasingly imminent reality. The film stars Elisabet Casanovas, Andrés Herrera, Carles Francino, Miki Núñez, Elena Gadel, Carlos Cuevas and Lluïsa Mallol.
Beyond its cinematic impact, the event holds special significance for the municipality, as the film is a Sitges production driven by local talent. Director and producer Ángeles Hernández and producer David Matamoros are both from Sitges, and the project consolidates Sitges as a territory for audiovisual creation and production, with deep roots and international reach.
The film was shot in Sitges and Sant Pere de Ribes, and the shoot involved people from Sitges and the Garraf region, reinforcing the film’s connection with the local community and the territory’s role as a filming location and cultural hub. The Councillor for Economic Promotion, Albert Oliver-Rodés, highlights that ‘this world premiere is an example of Sitges’ potential as a creative and audiovisual territory. Investing in cinema is investing in local talent, economic activity and international projection. Initiatives like this reinforce the town’s position as a filming location and as a reference cultural hub.’
The film features 3CAT and is supported by the ICEC and the ICAA, a commitment to auteur cinema with a social conscience and a contemporary outlook. The soundtrack includes music by Alfred García, Amaral and Búhos, reinforcing the film’s emotional and generational dimension.
The event will feature director Ángeles Hernández, accompanied by actors Carlos Cuevas, Carles Francino and Andrés Herrera, and producer David Matamoros, among others.
Tickets are now available on the website www.cineclubsitges.com.
